Our family’s farming operation and dairy in the Cuyama Valley is where I fell in love with farming.  The smell of cows still makes me salivate because we didn’t get to eat breakfast until they did.  I graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and managed farming operations throughout the valley.  

A decade ago, I saw the opportunity to help growers wanting to expand their farms by providing the guidance they needed in selecting land suitable for what they wanted to grow.  

At the same time, my father-in-law, Russ Waymire, showed me how farmers can reinvest proceeds from the sale of their land into other real estate investments in a way that defers capital gains taxes and provides a steady passive income, sometimes even greater than the farm ever produced.
